The nature of the heart
is to attach
and if attached,
then it can love,
And if it loves,
then it could break,
and if it breaks,
It could stay broken,
and close inside for good.
But if it gets
a second chance,
or a third,
or a fourth,
Then it could open
up again
Like a flower
from the cold
and beaten ground
into the spring
and bloom towards
the sun that warms it
and don't ya know,
that spring is right
around the corner.
