In the Land of the Living

Updated: Dec 18, 2021

A fight against the light

The dark has gone away,

I can't wake up,

With all the spots to hide

And blankets to cover me,

My body's made of baggy bones,

My stomach is a box of stones,

I'd grab ahold

but can't reach far,

I am some other me.

I'm in limbo, a see-saw state

In between

dreaming and morning,

The music plays

And gently sways

My thoughts towards the day,

And still my spirit

Rustles off into the grassy frey,

In the land of the living,

Nothing's there

For me to say.
